Claudia Reager Steiner was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 26, 1938. She was the child of Susan Torrence Lynch and Marion Foreman Reager. At a young age, she became the daughter of Susan Lynch and Horace “Rip” Lynch, her Papa.

Claudia graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1956. While a student there, she was active in FBLA, dramatics club, Tri-Hi-Y, GAA, and Jubilaires. Claudia was also a member of Job’s Daughter, Bethel 68, where she held offices of Chaplain and pianist.

In June 1956, two weeks after graduation, she married Charles William “Bill” Steiner of Lapel, Ind. He later enrolled at Purdue and it was during that time they became the parents of their two daughters.

In the Spring of 1976, Claudia took over the responsibility of reunion planner for her high school class. She also initiated a monthly luncheon for whoever was able to join the fun. She kept track of addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of her classmates and kept track of classmates who had passed away or had lost children or parents.

Claudia graduated from PCI in Indianapolis and worked many years in the medical field. She was also a lifelong blood donor. Claudia never met a stranger.

Survivors include daughters Kerry Steiner of Indianapolis and Kathy (Scott) Jackson of Kokomo, Ind. She also leaves grandchildren Jon (Jenn) Fultz, Jamie Steiner, Jennifer (Doug) Snow, and Heather Davis, as well as her great-grandchildren DeVon Espy, Bradlee, Savannah and MacKenzie Snow, Alistair and Auron Fultz; also surviving is a half-brother, Steve Reager. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Papa, her brother, Jack Scherer, and her biological father.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2015 with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m., at Indiana Funeral Care/Harry Moore Funeral Home, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Ind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to F.A.C.E. Low-Cost Animal Clinic, 1505 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46201; (317) 638- 3223..

Claudia will be missed. I have many memories of her from years past. She did an exceptionally good job keeping our class of 1956 connected.

My most compassionate blessings towards you and your family in both the remembrance and celebration of life lived by your Mother, Claudia Reager Steiner~
Though we had only let the one time during our trip together to Indi~
It is obvious that good roots take place in good soil and, (as your mother said), “The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”~
You’ve done great things in life and contributed to so many~
    Good foundations, Kerry~
    Sincerely and with Love~
